My approach to professional and design challenges was not born at a desk, but in nature and community service. At the age of 9, I joined the Scout movement, a unique experience that I lived intensely until I was 24. I went through all stages: from Cub Scouts (Do Your Best), Scouts (Be Prepared), Rovers (Service), to finally serving as Troop Scoutmaster.
Beyond the technical skills I acquired—such as pitching tents, starting campfires, survival, first aid, disaster rescue techniques, rappelling, and structural constructions with log bindings—scouting branded my soul with the most valuable lessons of my life: true teamwork, leadership in action, resilience in the face of adversity, and the unconditional value of helping and serving others without expecting a reward. This life philosophy is what defines my work ethic today.
Alongside my Scout training, my interest in technology woke up early. At age 12, I started tinkering with computers in an era when everything was managed with DOS commands, and I learned to program in FoxPro. That logical and analytical mind led me to graduate from high school with a specialization in Physics-Mathematics and to initially enter Systems Engineering. However, I soon realized that my path required visual and creative expression. I decided to trade pure code for design, initially thinking of studying industrial design, later consolidating my definitive path in Graphic Design.
Driven by the need to understand how my files behaved in the real world, in my third semester of college I started working at a pioneering color separation company (Sepcolor). I was obsessed with mastering high-end photo retouching because I had experienced bad results seeing what I designed on screen change drastically when printed. At that company, I discovered the demanding world of flexography and flexible packaging, learning to manipulate mechanical drawings and dielines under strict industrial standards. Later I returned to offset printing, but my curiosity led me to take a screen printing course, setting up my own small t-shirt workshop where I mastered the technique from the matrix. I complemented all this technical heritage in editorial design, layout, and art direction of books and catalogs at the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana.
Today, with over 24 years of combined experience, I lead Fiorum, my independent design studio. Here I have the privilege of helping contemporary brands (like Dubai Conocoto or Middle of the World) and visual artists translate their visions into premium packaging, powerful corporate identities, and custom WordPress and Elementor Pro web platforms under strict UI/UX standards.
That 12-year-old boy who explored computers via terminal commands is still alive in me. Today, that same innate curiosity drives me to master cutting-edge technologies, integrating Generative AI (Adobe Firefly, ComfyUI) into my creative workflows. The result is a professional profile that unites Scout discipline and leadership, mathematical logic, absolute mastery of technical printing, and digital innovation, ready to conceptualize projects that capture clients and boost sales in a real way.
